Ways to give

Giving monthly

If Wikipedia is a feature of your daily life, help us ensure every person on the planet gets the same access to knowledge.

An inspiring mission

Wikipedia and its sister projects exist to give people all over the world free and fair access to knowledge. We don’t charge a subscription fee because we believe access to knowledge should not be limited by what you can afford. Still, we know we can count on some donors to give regularly. Monthly donations help us plan financially for the long-term so that we can achieve even more together.

Why become a monthly donor?

The internet would not be the same without Wikipedia, and Wikipedia itself would not exist without the collective power of readers, editors and donors who contribute every month.

Giving regularly means you can:

  • Make a smaller contribution every month that leads to a bigger impact in the long-term.
  • Donate with a hassle-free automated paymentfor an amount you decide.
  • Follow Wikipedia beyond the screen and hear updates about the latest developments.
  • Play your part in sustaining Wikipedia in the long term.

A few words from monthly supporters

I have set up a monthly subscription. I can’t express adequately how you have changed the world and made it a more informed place and provided professionals like me somewhere that we can easily, quickly and safely inform our staff and leaders of often challenging and/or complex concepts.

“I very much appreciate Wikipedia, especially in a time when misinformation runs rampant. However you are managing it, your system works and the quality of the entries has not been compromised with time and use. It just keeps getting better. Wikipedia is a model of what can be accomplished.”

Donor, Canada

“This is the second time that I've signed on to make a small monthly donation to Wikipedia because I find it to be an invaluable resource that I use daily. As long as I'm able, I will continue to donate what I can, for as long as I can, because Wikipedia gives real value and entertainment to inquisitive minds. Thank you for all you do.”
